DORRIDGE FAMILY FUN DAY 2008 – SUNDAY 7^TH SEPTEMBER 2008

The Family Fun Day will be going ahead as planned even with the wet ground. See you at the Park!

We would like to invite you to Dorridge Family Fun Day Day 2008. This year the event will be on a Sunday again after a successful trial last year. We achieved our highest ever attendance, nearly doubling what we achieved on Saturdays in previous years.

The main attraction this year will be M.A.D. (Mountain Bike Aerial Display) who are an internationally renowned mountain bike stunt team which we expect to be a great family attraction. We will, as always, be advertising in the local media and handing out programmes door to door in the weeks before the event to advertise the day. Due to the expectation of greater interest in the day will be increasing this from 3,000 to 5,000.

Dorridge Day is on SUNDAY 16th September from 1pm. All the usual events will be there and there will be a dog display team in the main arena.

Santa has been in touch to let us know when he is popping by in the area.
His helpers are most unruly, so the timetable below is only a rough guide, but he does his best to visit on the days stated. He will be travelling in style this year with a Land Rover Discovery courtesy of the manufacturers.

Welcome to the Incoming Chairman

Steve Lyth has now taken the chair after the AGM at the Forest Hotel.

Round Table's year ends during April. All the committee members are elected for just one year which keeps things moving. People are expected to try several jobs during their tabling career, generally nothing onerous, just to keep the organisation ticking over.

Knowle & Dorridge Round Table will then have Kevin Johns becoming Area Chairman on the 26th April.

Thanks to everyone in Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath for helping us raise over £5,000.

It was especially nice that Santa was welcomed by so many young children and the local people are all so tolerant of our escapades.

Dorridge Day 2005 - 17th Spetember

Dorridge Day 2005 will be held on 17th September at Dorridge Park.

It will be the usual event of a good sociable day out for all the family with the added attraction of a number of shows including life-size table top football a magnificent synchronised kite flying display and the return of the ever-popular Knowle Dog Society Agility display.

The fun kicks of at 1.00pm for the official opening with events continuing till the close at 5.00pm.

Tuesday 12th July - Bike Night

July is our annual bike night where we do a few miles and drink a few beers.

The lanes around Knowle and Dorridge provide ample opportunity for a relaxed evening cycle. The lads and lasses of Round Table and Ladies Circle get together around 7.00pm and cycle between pubs with the potential emergency beer stop inbetween if the yardage is in danger of hitting triple figures between stops.

Wednesday 8th June- Nike Night

Wednesday Night is a visit to Alcester for their Pub Pedal, a night of beer and bicycling.

We get ourselves over to Alcester for around 7pm, cycle for a couple of hours (well, cycle for a few minutes and drink for a couple of hours) then meet up for chilli, a vague attempt at sociability and some entertainment. All you need are a bike and some legs (plus about £10 for food and some more for beer money).

Tuesday 24th May: Lads' Night Out

We have organised a fantastic lads night-out which you should all really enjoy!

We need to be at the venue for 7:25pm (if we don’t want to miss out on the fun).

Casual dress should be worn, we will be indoors. Please meet at the vaults at 7:00 at the latest, 15 minutes earlier for those that want a quick drink.

Tuesday 10th May - Business Meeting

On Tuesday 10th May, K & D Round Table will be meeting at the Lloyds for a Business Meeting - 7.30 for 8.00.

Business Meetings may not be the highlight of the Round Table Calendar, but amongst the bits and pieces we need to get sorted out, it is an opportunity to eat, drink and chat. Guests are welcome as long as you promise it won't put you off!

Tuesday 26th April: Greyhound Meeting

On the 26th April, K & D will be going to the dogs at Hall Green. First race is 7.35pm, doors open at 6.30pm.

As long as you are sensible, the dogs is a cheap night out with the Six Pack Party Deal at £8.
